Michelle Richburg's remarkable story is a testament to the power of resilience and determination. Hailing from Westchester, a suburban area just outside the vibrant city of New York, Michelle's upbringing provided her with a unique blend of suburban comfort and the drive to make it in the bustling metropolis. Her journey began with a profound lesson in financial independence from her grandmother, who, despite being a domestic worker, astutely saved enough to purchase four houses outright. This early influence instilled in Michelle a deep appreciation for financial security.
During her high school years, Michelle embarked on her professional path by venturing into the banking industry. Recognizing her passion for business, she pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, accompanied by comprehensive training programs in wealth management, marketing management, total quality management, and banking. Through her unwavering commitment and dedication, Michelle soared through the ranks and achieved the esteemed position of Senior Vice President at Signature Bank in 2006.
However, it was during a transformative period of self-reflection that Michelle discovered her true calling. After facing the unexpected setback of being fired in 2011, she embarked on a nine-month journey of introspection and self-discovery. During this time, Michelle diligently honed her signature story and enhanced her communication skills with the guidance of a skilled business coach. This period of self-reflection allowed her to distill her experiences into a compelling narrative that encapsulated her remarkable journey.
Embracing Entrepreneurship: A Life-Changing Epiphany
In January 2012, Michelle embarked on a new opportunity at People’s Bank, where she worked for over two years. Although this job was an integral part of her personal growth, she felt an undeniable urge to pursue her entrepreneurial aspirations. The catalyst for this transformative decision was a life-changing experience: attending Oprah's "The Life You Want Tour" in the fall of 2014. Surrounded by inspiring figures like Elizabeth Gilbert, and Deepak Chopra, Michelle's mindset underwent a profound shift. She realized that settling for mediocrity was no longer an option.
Driven by this newfound determination, Michelle made a series of courageous choices to manifest her vision. In April 2015, she took a leap of faith and left her position at People's United Bank, even though her initial plan was to wait until her son finished college. She felt convicted by her decision and resolved to invest in herself and her dreams. Over the summer, Michelle met with her clients, sharing her plans and intentions, and in September of that same year, she proudly opened the doors to her first office in downtown Meatpacking.

Since then, Michelle Richburg has grown Richburg Enterprises into a distinguished firm that provides business and tax management services. Fabian Wright is a seasoned Partner and tax expert at The MAR Group, with more than two decades of experience in providing accounting, financial, and tax services to a diverse range of clients. He has extensive knowledge of the taxation of individuals, businesses, and not-for-profit entities, and he has a particular focus on serving entertainers and high-net-worth individuals.
Before joining The MAR Group, Fabian had a successful career as a team leader in both private and public practice, where he managed accounting and tax groups, oversaw the planning, and ensured compliance for a variety of clients, including professional athletes, high-net-worth individuals, privately held businesses, entertainers, and non-profit organizations.
Fabian received his Bachelor of Business Administration cum laude and a Master of Science in Taxation from Baruch College in New York City. He is also a Certified Public Accountant in New York State and a member of the New York State Society of CPAs.
